CARE's Doing Nexus Differently Principles

While development has traditionally been separated into “stable” areas and humanitarian response for crisis zones, few countries or regions in the world are truly stable. In this increasingly disrupted context, conflict, natural disasters, and impacts of climate change are commonplace in countries where long-term efforts to reduce chronic poverty and injustice are playing an increasingly important role. This capacity statement examines the nexus solution (integrating humanitarian
assistance with development –Double Nexus - and with peace/security –Triple Nexus- in analysis, planning, and implementation)  and provides examples and solutions for moving forward.
