USAID's Office of Food for Peace Nominated for Sammie Award

It is with great pleasure and excitement to share that USAID's Office of Food for Peace, represented by Acting Director Matt Nims, has been selected as a finalist for the Service to America Medals, known as the "Sammies." The Sammies honor exceptional federal workers who are breaking down barriers, overcoming huge challenges and getting results. Food for Peace was nominated for its incredible response to the "Four Enemies" in Yemen, Somalia, South Sudan and northeast Nigeria, when it distributed $1.4 billion in emergency food assistance to 20 million people, saving countless lives under harrowing conditions.

Colleagues, FFP shares the credit for the incredible response to these crises with all our partners who made it possible -- you. Thank you!

Round 1 of voting ends Thursday, May 31, 2018! For more information on all finalists and to cast your vote for the People's Choice Award: https://servicetoamericamedals.org/honorees/view_profile.php?profile=515
