COVID-19 shined a light on the importance of handwashing and there is a need to identify and implement systemic actions that can continue to support and sustain behavior change at scale in this post-pandemic era. In this webinar, the Hygiene Promotion in Emergencies Technical Working Group convened speakers to discuss opportunities and challenges for sustaining handwashing at scale in post-pandemic. The panel evaluated how behavioral science and insights can inform interventions, opportunities for digital and locally adapted messages, the need for partnerships with private sector, options for financing hygiene, and examples of innovations and coordination.
