Save and Grow: Cassava: A Guide to Sustainable Production Intensification
Booming demand for cassava will prompt many farmers to intensify production. But a shift to intensive monocropping carries risks, including pest and disease upsurges, and the depletion of soil nutrients.
Using FAO’s “Save and Grow“ model of agriculture, cassava growers can avoid the risks of intensification, while realizing the crop’s potential for producing higher yields, alleviating hunger and rural poverty and contributing to national economic development.
