Country Development Cooperation Strategy

This strategy addresses the unique challenges presented by Mali's military coup d'état in August 2020, aiming for a more stable, peaceful, and resilient Mali. It focuses on an innovative approach that balances tried-and-true development interventions with renewed efforts to confront long-standing development and humanitarian challenges. The strategy emphasizes community-driven development, localization, and inclusion of marginalized groups, especially women and youth. The Special Objective (SpO) focuses on improving outcomes across the Humanitarian-Development-Peace (HDP) nexus by enhancing coordination and collaboration. It aims to respond more effectively to humanitarian needs, maintain and improve resilience in targeted communities, and reduce vulnerabilities. The SpO institutionalizes new organizational structures and processes to increase coordination and coherence across the HDP nexus. This resource is for USAID technical offices, development partners, and stakeholders engaged in cross-sectoral programming and coordination across the HDP nexus in Mali.
