In 2023, World Food Programme's (WFP) Regional Bureau in Dakar conducted a learning exercise to gather up-to-date information on how WFP country offices in Western Africa implement Humanitarian-Development-Peace (HDP) Nexus approaches. The focus was on identifying emergent and good practices in Burkina Faso, with face-to-face interviews, virtual focus groups, and desk reviews. WFP, committed to conflict-sensitive programming and HDP Nexus principles, aligns its contributions with UN and government efforts for Sustainable Development Goals. The organization emphasizes partnerships, conflict sensitivity, gender considerations, and flexibility in implementing its global approach to the HDP Nexus, relying on field practices and existing partnerships to operationalize this approach effectively.
