The Transformative Household Methodology (THM) is a tool that aims at creating awareness of intra-household gender relations between women, men, girls, and boys. The THM identifies the different roles and responsibilities of household members, their access and control over resources, and their related benefits. The purpose of THM training is to create awareness of the participating household on gender relations, specifically access, control/benefit over resources, and division of labor to transform their intra-household gender relations. The training is a fully practical exercise that involves all the household members, regardless of age, in identifying gender relations at the household level. The tool is implemented at the household level with all family members, including any extended family members who are influential in the household decisions making.
