This learning brief describes how the USAID-funded, Mercy Corps-implemented RIPA-North program learnt from past failures and leveraged local private sector partnerships to successfully catalyze sustainable market-led animal health services reaching last-mile lowland communities. The brief underscores how a market systems development (MSD) approach can be best applied to build functioning, inclusive and resilient markets for critical resilience-building inputs, even in thin markets contexts with perceived limited ability and willingness to pay for services.
